Live Wedding Painting

A live wedding painting experience is a real-time artistic creation that captures a special moment from your wedding day, such as your ceremony, first dance, or the venue's ambiance.

I currently split my time between two homes—New York City and the Bay Area in Northern California. For simplicity, I calculate travel expenses for live wedding packages based on whichever location is closest to your venue.

Before the event: we will work together on the vision for your wedding portrait that I will be creating on your wedding day to assure the completed artwork meets all your expectations.

On the day of the event: As your live painter for the wedding, I arrive a few hours before your event starts, set up my easel at your venue, and begin sketching and painting the chosen scene during your event. The finished piece will be taken to my studio for touch-ups and framing and shipped directly to you.

My setup is quick and easy, requiring no special accommodations from the venue. I can position my easel almost anywhere during your ceremony and am happy to relocate closer to the reception area afterward.

The only thing I’ll need on the day is a chair.

I’m happy to be a live painter for any special occasion you’re celebrating, such as birthdays, vow renewals, wedding anniversaries, and more.

Every package includes a painting of the newlyweds and up to two pets, framed with a single mat in a museum-quality frame of your choice, with archival-quality materials (to preserve your artwork) and shipping across the US all included in the price.

Additional options and upgrades, such as extra people or pets, double matting, and anti-reflective glass are available at an added cost.

A signed contract and a 25% deposit is required to secure your wedding date.

The remaining balance is due two weeks before the event.

Absolutely! During our consultation, we’ll discuss the specific moment and background you’d like captured, whether it’s your ceremony, first kiss, or another cherished part of the day.

Absolutely! I can incorporate your loved ones, even those who couldn’t be present on the day, into your portrait. I’ll just need you to send me reference photos of them before your wedding day.

Here are the sizes I offer:

• 11 x 14 in painting (17 x 20 in framed)

• 12 x 16 in painting (19 x 23 in framed)

• 16 x 20 in painting (24 x 28 in framed)

Choosing the Right Size

If you’re unsure about the size, try this tip: measure the area on the wall where you plan to hang the framed painting to get an idea of the overall scale (use the framed dimensions for accuracy).

Smaller sizes, such as 11 x 14 in and 12 x 16 in, make a more subtle and elegant statement. Larger sizes, like 16 x 20 in and 18 x 24 in, are better suited for a more prominent and eye-catching commemoration of your special day.

Detail and Composition Considerations

When selecting a size, it's important to consider the level of detail you’d like included in your painting. While it can be tempting to incorporate every loved one, floral arrangement, and décor element, too many small details can lead to a painting that feels busy or cramped.

To maintain focus on the main subjects (you!) and keep the composition clean and balanced, I recommend choosing one or two focal points for the detailed elements—one of which will naturally be the newlyweds. If you’d like to include the bridal party and/or family in the portrait, a larger size is ideal to provide enough space and ensure the composition remains harmonious and doesn't feel overloaded.

Yes! I am based in NYC and Northern California/Bay Area but am available to travel across the US and internationally. Travel expenses apply for weddings outside my local areas.

Travel expenses typically include:

- Transit from NY or San Francisco (whichever is closer to your venue) to the venue and back (flight fare, train tickets, car rental). Special offers for European and Canadian weddings!

- Hotel expenses. If I can’t come back home from your venue on the same day, I’ll be including one or two nights at a hotel reasonably close to the venue (one - if I can get to the venue early enough on the day of the event; two - if I can’t get there early enough and have to travel the day before the event).

Absolutely! Let me know if the venue requires any specific wording on the certificate (such as including their name), and I’ll send it to you promptly.

Absolutely! I also offer custom wedding portraits painted from your favorite photo. These make excellent gifts for newlyweds or their families.

Unfortunately, I don’t offer guest portraits (unless they are included directly in your wedding portrait).
