Your Favorite Old Photos Reimagined in Watercolor

Old photos hold some of the most precious stories, and I love giving those memories a new life through watercolor. This portrait was painted from an old wedding photo, capturing the couple’s special day in a new way.

The bride looked absolutely stunning in the original photo, but she wasn’t entirely happy with how her hair looked. She shared another photo where her hair had beautiful curls and asked if I could combine the two. I was happy to make the adjustment (full disclosure: while this isn’t always possible, in about 90% of cases, I can make small tweaks like this).

Transforming a photograph into a hand-painted piece of art feels like giving a memory a fresh frame—kind of like the nostalgia of shooting with a film camera.
